My First Triathlon®
Full Iron
2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, 26.2 mile
run
Dear Athletes,
Welcome to My First
Triathlon® Full Iron
“No Experience Allowed” is the entry requirement for My
First Triathlon Full Iron.
Due to the overwhelming popularity of the My First
Triathlon, World Endurance Sport has developed the My First Triathlon Full
Iron. A full iron distance triathlon exclusive to the first time competitor.
The Bigfoot Triathlon Festival in 2006 will be the
qualifier for this unique concept in ultra distance events.
The event takes place in Harrison Mills, 50 miles East of
Vancouver, British Columbia. The swim is along the shore line of Harrison Bay
in shallow waters where athletes can stand up and take a break if they get
nervous or tired. The water is crystal clear, in fact it is so clean athletes
can hydrate while swimming. The bike course is almost pancake flat with only a
few small rolling hills at the turn points. The marathon run is also flat with
only a few slight inclines.
To gain entry into the My First Triathlon Full Iron
division of the Bigfoot Triathlon athletes cannot have participated in this
distance before.
The Bigfoot Full Iron Triathlon starting in 2007 will be
exclusive to first time competitors as well as returning Bigfoot athletes. The
returning athletes will automatically become the Triathlon Ambassadors who will
inspire the first timers before during and after the event.
This friendly concept of triathlon will introduce athletes
who wish to accomplish a great achievement without the intimidation factor.
Limited space
will be available to experienced competitors however the main focus of the event
will be geared towards the first time competitors
